Jordan from SEQ Air Care cleaning a split system air conditioner in North Brisbane
Mould, dust or musty smells?

Professional Air Conditioner Cleaning Across Brisbane’s Northside

If your aircon smells musty, shows dark mould-like buildup, blows dust or just feels dirty when it runs, the problem is often deeper than the filters. I’m Jordan, the owner-operator of SEQ Air Care, and I deep clean the coil, fan barrel, drain tray and airflow path to remove the buildup hiding inside.

Signs The Problem Is Deeper Than The Filters

Mould, dust and grime can build up on internal parts you cannot easily see. These are some of the most common reasons homeowners call me.

01

Musty or stale smell

Odours when the aircon starts can come from moisture, dust and grime sitting on internal components behind the filters.

02

Visible mould or dark buildup

Black spotting around the vents or fan barrel can be a sign that buildup continues deeper through the internal airflow path.

03

Dusty or irritating air

Dust and mould can irritate sensitive people. If the air feels dusty or uncomfortable when the system runs, the inside is worth checking.

04

Weak or dirty airflow

A dirty coil or fan barrel can restrict airflow and keep blowing built-up dust and debris through the room.

If one is dirty, check the others too

Clean The Split Systems Your Family Actually Uses

Bedrooms and living areas often collect the same dust, moisture and grime over time. I can deep clean several units in one visit, with every additional indoor unit only $99.

Every additional unit receives the same full service. The lower price is possible because I am already at the property with the equipment set up. It is not a shorter or reduced clean.

What comes out This dirty runoff came from units that often looked clean outside.

The filters only show part of the story. The coil, fan barrel, drain tray and airflow path can hold far more buildup than you can see from the room.

Why a filter clean does not fix the problem

The Air Passes Through Parts You Cannot Easily See

Air moves across the coil, through the fan barrel and past the drain area before it reaches the room. Dust, grime, moisture and mould-like buildup can collect on those surfaces even when the filters look clean.

The Same Local Owner Cleaning Every Unit

Hi, I’m Jordan. I own and operate SEQ Air Care, and I personally complete every booking. When you book multiple split systems, I clean each unit myself rather than sending different technicians or subcontractors through your home.

I focus specifically on the problems homeowners actually notice: musty smells, visible buildup, dust, dirty airflow and systems that have not been properly cleaned inside for a long time.

Common questions

Questions About Mould, Smells & Deep Cleaning

Will a deep clean remove a musty smell?

Often, yes, when the smell is coming from dust, grime, moisture or mould-like buildup inside the accessible components. If the odour comes from another moisture source or a mechanical issue, further investigation may be needed.

What if I can see mould or black buildup?

Visible dark spotting around the vents or fan barrel is a good reason to have the inside checked. I remove accessible mould-like buildup, dust and grime during the deep clean and show you the before-and-after result.

Can a dirty split system contribute to sneezing or irritation?

Dust and mould can irritate sensitive people. Cleaning removes buildup from the accessible airflow components, but it is not a medical treatment and I do not promise health outcomes.

Can I have every split system cleaned in one visit?

Yes. Select the number of indoor and outdoor units when booking and the available times will account for the total service duration.

How much does the deep clean cost?

The first indoor unit is $149 and each additional indoor unit cleaned at the same address during the same appointment is $99. Three indoor units are $347 and four are $446.

What systems do you clean?

I specialise in cleaning residential wall-mounted split systems. I do not clean ducted, cassette, portable or window units. Refrigerant, electrical and mechanical faults require an appropriately licensed air conditioning or electrical technician.

How often should I clean my split system?

Around 12 months is a useful guide for many homes, but book sooner if you notice musty smells, visible mould-like buildup, dust from the vents or reduced airflow.

Is the cleaning process messy?

No. I use protective covers and a catchment bag to keep the surrounding area protected while I clean.

How long does a clean take?

Most single split system cleans take around 45-60 minutes, with extra time allowed for heavier buildup or difficult access.

Is it safe for children and pets?

I keep the work area controlled and ask that children and pets stay clear while equipment and cleaning products are in use.
